Iranian Ambassador Outlines Export Potential to Poland at the 2025 Lublin Export Congress
Dr. Issa Kameli, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Poland, delivered a speech at the 2025 Export Congress organized by the National Association of Exporters of the Republic of Poland at the Lublin University of Economics and Business. While outlining Iran's overall export potential, he emphasized new opportunities for cooperation with Poland, particularly in the fields of new technologies and technical and engineering services. After reviewing the strengths of Iranian exports, the Ambassador addressed the country's growing knowledge-based economy. He stated that while Iran remains a strong global exporter of energy resources, petrochemical products, metals, and agricultural products such as dried fruits and fresh produce, its future export strategy is increasingly focused on areas where significant scientific and technological achievements have been made. Dr. Kameli highlighted Iran's substantial human capital, noting that 27% of Iran's workforce consists of higher education graduates, and that over 500,000 people are members of the country's Engineering Organization, one of the highest numbers globally. He pointed out that even under illegal sanctions, Iran, by relying on domestic capabilities, achieves a nominal GDP of approximately $464 billion, ranking 35th in the world. He argued that this fact indicates its immense potential for cooperation with other countries in various industrial sectors. Dr. Kameli detailed four key areas—agriculture and food industries, technical and engineering services, logistics and transport infrastructure, and knowledge-based technologies—as having the highest potential for cooperation between Iran and Poland, considering the economic characteristics of both nations. He invited Polish exporters and investors to look beyond traditional trade barriers, recognize Iran's new export capabilities, and take steps toward developing Iranian-Polish economic cooperation.
