Dr. Isa Kamali, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Poland, met with Dr. Grzegorz Berendt, Ambassador and Special Representative of Poland’s President for Historical Diplomacy, as part of efforts to deepen and strengthen the historical dimensions of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the unique importance of the more than 550-year history of Iran–Poland relations, and in particular highlighted Iran’s generous reception of Polish refugees during World War II as an enduring symbol of the humanitarian bonds and historical solidarity between the two nations.
The two sides also exchanged views on initiatives on the occasion of the upcoming centenary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, with the aim of enhancing academic studies and strengthening contacts between historians and researchers from both sides.
