Iranian Ambassador Meets Acting Head of Polands Institute of National Remembrance

Dr Isa Kameli, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Warsaw, met with Dr. Karol Polejowski, the Acting Head of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN).

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on ways to strengthen historical and cultural cooperation. The main focus of their discussions was keeping alive the memory of the Iranian people's hospitality towards Polish refugees during World War II.

Following their understanding to pursue several initiatives, the Iranian Ambassador and Dr. Polejowski concurred that:

"This shared humanitarian heritage, which commemorates the unparalleled hospitality of the Iranian people towards over 120,000 Polish refugees during the difficult period of World War II, must be preserved as the backbone of relations between the two nations and passed on to new generations."
