Dr. Issa Kameli, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Poland, met with Dr. Józef Zalewski, the Director of the Asia-Pacific Museum in Warsaw, to discuss ways to expand cultural and artistic cooperation between Iran and Poland.

In this meeting, the Iranian Ambassador emphasized the importance of the role of cultural exchanges in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries, and noted the upcoming 100th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity between Iran and Poland, and discussed proposals for expanding cooperation with the Asia-Pacific Museum.

The Director of the Asia-Pacific Museum, welcoming the Iranian Ambassador’s proposals, expressed his hope that, given Iran’s rich civilization and ancient history, more museum cooperation and cultural programs would be held in Warsaw in the new era of the embassy. He also referred to the hospitality shown by Iranians to Polish refugees during World War II and considered keeping such humanitarian actions for the Polish people alive as one of the museum’s missions.
