Statement on the military aggression by the Zionist regime and the US against Iran
The United States and the Zionist regime, on the morning of Saturday, February 28, for the second time in less than a year, in violation of Article 2(4) of the Charter of the United Nations, carried out an illegal and aggressive act against the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran, targeting civilians and a range of objectives and government centers, defense infrastructure, and non-military, educational, and sports facilities in various cities across Iran.
Regrettably, in the initial minutes of the aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, schools, hospitals, and other public places were targeted by the enemy, and a large number of students, teachers, and medical staff were martyred.
This blatant aggression occurred while Iran, believing in the path of dialogue and diplomacy, was engaged in diplomatic negotiations with the United States. Today’s attacks showed that the recent negotiations, similar to the experience of the twelve-day war, were merely a cover for deception and the preparation of criminal actions by the United States.
The recent unlawful aggression once again demonstrated that international laws and regulations are merely playthings for bullying and law-breaking powers, and that the Iranian nation’s caution and distrust toward them has not been without reason.
The attack and aggression by the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran constitutes a violation of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter and a clear armed aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Responding to this aggression is Iran’s legal and legitimate right under Article 51 of the UN Charter, and the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on faith and domestic capabilities and resources, will use all their power and means to confront and repel the source and origin of these aggressions. It is evident that while once again emphasizing its policy of good neighborliness and the importance of regional peace and stability for all, the Islamic Republic of Iran considers retaliatory action against legitimate targets to be its lawful right in accordance with the UN Charter.
All governments and international organizations, especially the Security Council of the United Nations, which bears responsibility for maintaining international peace and security, are expected to strongly condemn this blatant aggression and to take immediate measures to halt these attacks and address actions that constitute a violation of international peace and security.
These aggressive actions, like the June 2025 aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, have provoked the voices of protest from freedom-loving and peace-seeking people around the world, including Poland, which has recently also expressed its dissatisfaction with the bullying behavior of U.S. leaders. Numerous messages of sympathy and solidarity with the people of Iran have been received, for which gratitude and appreciation are due.
